Best of Stresa, Italy

K2 Gelato

When in Italy, there is a gelato shop around every corner. The best in Stresa comes from K2. Here, the Gelato is kept in stainless steel containers instead of being displayed in heaping mounds of neon in glass cases. This gelato is the best as it is not dyed and is the original Italian gelato. Order a cone with two flavors, which will be scooped in the shape of a flower. Then you can choose to have it dunked in chocolate, which quickly solidifies, making the perfect tasty treat. I love the fruit flavors, and recommend combining raspberry and mango.

Scenic Walkway

Stresa, situated on Lake Maggiore, offers gorgeous lake views. Simply take a stroll around the lake’s path. I loved doing this in the early morning when the water was calm and the streets were mostly empty. This is equally special after dark when the lights of the islands and buildings around the lake sparkle with the ripples of the water.

Day Trip to Como

Lake Como is rightfully famous, as it is beautiful. Start the day with a boat cruise and learn the history behind the lake’s gorgeous villas. Then return to Como for shopping and food. Como is famous for its silk production, making anything silk a memorable souvenir.

Stay at Grand Hotel des Iles Borromee

This hotel made me feel like a princess. Each room is ornately decorated in shining gold, intricate carvings, chandeliers, and more. Breakfast is included, and guests can eat by the lake or in the ballroom. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere takes the experience to a new level. The hotel also has a unique pool with a diving platform. Every aspect of the hotel is well thought out and pieces together to create a truly magical effect.

Shop at La Cambusa

To find the best souvenirs in Stresa, go to La Cambusa. The owner of the store has personally tried everything in the store, including pasta, wine, olive oil, and more, ensuring that what you take home will be fantastic. They can ship products home as well. The staff was all so friendly, and this is truly a shopping experience.

Swim in the Lake

Lake Maggiore offers brilliant swimming spots, all sharing perfectly refreshing water that is clear enough to see the bottom almost twenty feet deep. Stop at one of the several rocky beaches to enjoy a dip.
